We are currently seeking an experienced Design & Construct Electrical Estimator to join our
team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Primary Objective
This primary purpose of this position will be to complete Design & Construct tenders and
detailed cost estimates for a wide variety of Commercial & Industrial Electrical projects. Your
main duties will include:
- Review and analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements and scope of works.
- Coordinate with the Design Team and external engineers for Tender’s Maximum Demand and Mains cable calculations.
- Develop designs for overhead/underground infrastructure, switchboards, and distribution boards.
- Ensure lighting and emergency lighting design adequacy.
- Design final sub-circuits, select sub-contractors, and meet trade requirements.
- Assess project timelines, potential risks, and unique project considerations
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including material, labour, and equipment costs
- Utilise estimating software and historical cost data to ensure accurate and competitive tenders
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes for materials and services
- Work closely with the Design Manager and ECI Manager to ensure alignment on Tender methodologies, strategies, and objectives
- Participate in Pre-Construction meetings incl. site visits to gain a deeper understanding of Tender requirements
- Verify that estimates are in compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and client specifications
- Review and refine estimates to minimize errors and discrepancies
- Maintain organised records of project estimates, communications, and documentation

The successful candidate for this opportunity will be highly motivated, confident in their
communication skills and have meticulous attention to detail.
You will also hold the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction sector, with proven success tendering electrical projects between $500K – $5M
- Electrical trade qualification or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Proficiency in electrical estimation software and tools (SimPRO, GroundPlan, AGI- 32, MS Office Suite)
- Strong knowledge of all the different electrical systems, standards, codes and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current Australian driver’s licence
